Mary Roberts lost her loyal and faithful friend, April, a collie-cross aged 15 in 2005. She had always been a very speical dog and been to the Sanctuary on many trips.

A few years ago Mary had breast cancer and had a very long course of treatment. April was always with her during treatments and at Mary's bedside. So that April was able to visit Mary in hospital, she was registered as a Pets As Therapy dog.

Having no family, April gave Mary a reason to get up and carry on living and feels she owes so much to her. In her memory, Mary has set up this Field of Dreams fund to keep her spirit alive and give Mary a purpose in her own life.

Mary is a volunteer for the The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST Sidmouth) and also supports our work here at the Sanctuary.
