Holiday Fun

Come and visit us!

It’s very chilly today and as I walked over to the Main Yard, I was pleased to see a number of visitors, many with children and dogs braving the cold. It’s half term this week and there are fun and interactive holiday workshops going on here at the Sanctuary each day.

Learning to look after donkeys

Aerial view of Paccombe Farm

Last week I attended Stage 1 of the Donkey Care Course which is run by The Donkey Sanctuary. The course is designed to help people learn how to look after donkeys and provide for their needs. The day was action packed with interesting classroom teaching intermingled with practical demonstrations and hands-on experiences.

A morning walk to the Main Yard

Jubilee and Emma

A chorus of donkeys brayed as I left the office this morning for my walk over to Main Yard. Along the road, I passed muddy puddles and remembered the snow we had a few weeks ago.

Meeting the Poitous

Poitou

Hi! My name is Lucy Lythgoe and since November I have been working here at The Donkey Sanctuary as a volunteer. I am very pleased to be spending time in such beautiful surroundings and am enjoying getting to know more about the work of the charity.
