Cheque being presented by students from Falcon School, Nicosia

Students from the Falcon School in Nicosia helped to raise £300 for our Sanctuary in Cyprus by a sponsored walk organised by the primary scout cubs and the secondary eco-committee.

Our general manager in Cyprus travelled to the school to accept the cheque and to present a certificate for Hercules, one of the donkeys for adoption.

Hercules has a lively and cheeky character making him very popular among children. They love the fact that he can open padlocks. Because of this, special padlocks had to be sent over -- he even managed to open them. Combination locks are now used for Hercules and we are glad to say that he hasn’t been able to work out the numbers ... yet!

I had the pleasure of visiting you two years ago and enjoyed it very much hope to get back again soon
