The Gift Aid Scheme allows The Donkey Sanctuary and our sister charity, the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys, to claim the tax back from the Inland Revenue on any donation from our supporters, as long as they are UK tax payers.
You can cancel this declaration at any time by notifying us.
We can backdate the tax claim on any donations that have already been given, for up to 4 years prior to this year.
Once you have registered with the Gift Aid Scheme we can claim the tax back on all donations providing you cointinue to be a tax payer. Should you cease to be a tax payer you need to notify us.
You must pay an amount of income tax/or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax that we reclaim on your donations in the tax year.
If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in your Self Assessment tax return.
Please notify us if you change your name or address.
When making a donation, it would be helpful if you could inform us if you are a UK taxpayer to enable us to claim back money from the tax man through the Gift Aid Scheme by completing our gift aid declaration form.
An overview of the Gift Aid Scheme is available on the HM Customs & Excise website.
