Memorial Day 2009

Memorial day preparations

We will be holding our annual Memorial Day on Saturday 3rd October 2009 at 10.30 am. During this day we remember the many people whose names are inscribed around the Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary's promise that "if you remember them, we'll remember you" is so true; the legacies we receive are the lifeline of the charity.

For many senior citizens it is sometimes difficult to find that bit of extra cash from savings, particularly as none of us know what's around the corner, but it is nice to think that by leaving a lasting gift and remembering the Sanctuary in your Will can ensure that the donkeys are looked after for many years to come.

Of course times are difficult for younger people too, with families to care for and bills to pay, but all donations are gratefully received, whether large or small.

i think that this would be a good day to remember others who have donated money or even helped out tendering to the donkeys i think everyone should be remember people who have donated there time. i hope that in many years to come others will keep this time alive

We have been to the last two memorial days (2007 and 2008) although we have had a plaque to remember our wonderful dogs Charlie and Sam much longer. This is a very special day to think of lost loved ones whether they be human or animal. There is no charge to visitors, the sanctuary and Reverend Leverton give their time free and willingly. We are made to feel like special friends and welcomed with open arms. Thank you to you all for giving us this very important day. It's not just donkey heaven, it's people heaven too! There is nowhere like the donkey sanctuary on earth, truely magical!
