Does anybody know if there are any beach donkeys in Scotland and Ireland?
How far north can you see beach donkeys in England?

I decided to do a little internet "research" and did struggle to find many references to beach donkeys north of Scarborough! South Shields seem to have had donkeys in the past but I couldn't find anything current.
I did find this article though which is a couple of years old now about the popularity of beach donkeys.
Are sands of time running out for seaside donkeys?
Liz
Your question dates from a few years back, but I have wonderful memories of donkeys on the beach at St Andrews' in Fife, Scotland in the early sixties.
They made my day on every seaside outing. I have no idea if there are any left there now however. Will check up on my next summer visit! As it is freezing cold as I write in December 2010, I hope the donkeys are safe and snug in your barn under the infra red light.... maybe dreaming of olden days of sunshine and children's laughter and the sea salt breezes and summer fun ?
