Full haematology, biochemistry and parasitology samples can be analysed at the Sanctuary's laboratory. The Sanctuary offers a referral service at its fully equipped hospital in Sidmouth, Devon.

Facilities include an operating theatre with closed circuit anaesthesia and diagnostic equipment including endoscopy, x-ray and ultra sound.

The Sanctuary also specialises in remedial and surgical farriery as well as producing information sheets and protocols which include:

• Haematological and Biochemical Parameters - normal values for donkeys;
• Hyperlipaemia - diagnosis and treatment of;
• Foot problems - including laminitis and seedy toe;
• Field anaesthesia;
• Castration; and
• A guide to foaling.
