A touch of Christmas sparkle...

Christmas sparkle

It's not every day that you are treated to a foot trimming with a touch of sparkle added afterwards, but that's what happened to my best friend Lady this morning when our farrier dropped by to see us.

Me and my long ear friends were all out in the yard finishing off breakfast when Emma, our groom, opened the gate for the farrier. I spotted the four miniatures donkeys - Brandy, Gem, Twiggy and Star - making their way to the open gate, but Emma saw them before they had a chance to get any closer. I'm sure they were only just checking that the gate had been shut properly!

After Colin had set up his bench, he started making new plastic shoes for Lady. Being in earshot, I heard him say that he's really pleased with her feet these days, so I went over to tell her while Jubilee and Teddy carried on inspecting Colin's tool boxes.

It wasn't long before Lady's hooves were all trimmed and a new pair of shoes back on her feet. There was something different about them this time though, so I took a closer look... they sparkled with glitter. I wouldn't say I'm jealous but...

Guess what? Colin is coming back in a couple of weeks to trim the rest of our hooves - all 56 of us. I hope he has enough left to sprinkle over us too. I better make sure I'm first in the queue!

Ooooh! Wow! How elegant! Indeed Little Pippa, you'd better find a way to get yourself first in line for the next trimming! Somehow, I'm confident you will… and am looking forward to seeing your own fashionable shoes on the next picture ;-)

Dearest Lady and friends,
How beautiful you are, so happy now back in balance with Little Pippa and your friends. You inspire once again! So to your new "shining being" I dedicate two verses, the first from Daniel 12:3 - And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament.; also, in particular, from Psalm 91:11,12 - For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. Dear Lady, I am so glad for you! I confess, in secret I have been calling you "Lady Hesper" the evening star! And now you sparkle like your secret name, your angel name! Serendipity at work once again!
