Celebrating 40 years

As part of our Sanctuary from Suffering Campaign we have put together a list of events taking place around the country to promote awareness of our work and invite you to come along.

South West

  • Cancelled - A family Barn Dance and BBQ will be held at the Sanctuary’s farm near Ottery St Mary on Saturday 18th July from 6pm-10.30pm.
  • 72 Year-old John Vivian from Stoke Bishop in Bristol is looking forward to running the Flora London Marathon Sunday 26th April.
  • Donkey week at the Sanctuary takes place this year from 5th to 12th May. The Sanctuary’s new DVD is premiered, information and talks about overseas will take be taking place.
  • Ben Hart, Training Centre Manager, of The Donkey Sanctuary will be running the Grizzly in East Devon on Sunday 8th March.
  • Sanctuary from Suffering campaign launched at The Donkey Sanctuary on Friday 27th February at 2pm with local councillors and dignitaries in attendance.

South East

There are currently no events taking place in this region.

East of England

  • Brenda and Richard Perry of The Cross Inn, Great Bromley, Colchester will be holding a pub lunch with the donkeys on Sunday 3rd May from 11am till 3pm with all proceeds going to the SFS campaign. Visitors will have the chance to meet donkeys, purchase cakes and join in with raffles and tombolas.

London

  • Sean Conboy, from Great Barr, Birmingham will be running this years Albert Bartlett Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 31st May.

East Midlands

  • Staff from The Donkey Sanctuary based in Liscarroll will be raising awareness about its cause at East Glendalough School in Wicklow on Wednesday 25th February from 9.00am till 11.00am.
