Beach Donkeys

We are ancient like the sand
That's under our feet,
Pillars of history
Standing side by side,
We are the Beach Donkeys
Here to give you a ride.
We'll quench your thirst
After you play in the sun,
Slowing your pace
Like the tide going out
To us, it's great fun!
With the rhythm of the waves
Our steps like the deep ocean -
Like the sea we watch you
With our bottomless gaze.
We carry the silence
Of the calm water and moon
Your day effortless made
By all our hard work.
It's our pleasure to see
Your smiles and your glee,
Remember, each year
As summer calls you to meet
You'll find what you lack
On our back, down our track,
To the sea.
