Dancing To Your Soul (the continued remembering of Fred Snook)

Recently, I have lost two friends to sudden deaths. Who do I turn to but Fred Snook! Ah Fred Snook, he continues to make my melancholy smile...this poem is for the couple who loved him and whose memory of dancing for him I cherish.

Dancing To Your Soul (the continued remembering of Fred Snook)

They came for one last dance with you
A rumba they would share
You would have liked the wobble and shake
With the rhythm of heaven in the air.
A chance to show you all their love
And thank the love you gave
For you were their big white Donkey, Fred
And you had the best of care.
The years you had were filled with friends
A hole you left in many hearts
Like waiting lonely at the fence
We're waiting lonely in our steps.
Just one more glimpse of your snowy face!
Reflecting winter's light
You brightened up care's lonely cave...
Like losing one's partner in the dance of life
Like dancing you lovingly to your grave.
