In early August, Andrew spent a day here at the Sanctuary and met (amongst many others) a truly serene and gentle friend. Having taken some photos, Andrew sent one to us to see if we could put a name to the donkey. The tell-tale ears were a clue and the grooms at Trow Farm were able to confirm that it was Harvey.

This week Andrew had taken advantage of the lovely weather and rode his motorbike from Wales to meet his new friend - and others! Here he is pictured with Harvey (left) with some of our other resident donkeys.

As a young boy Andrew used to have a paper round and one of the homes he delivered to had a donkey in the garden. Since then, he's been a donkey fan and having heard about the Sanctuary, Andrew was keen to visit.
