Donkeys looking for a home

Great Yarmouth donkeys taking a break

Do you have an acre of well fenced grazing land with a shelter to keep a pair of beach donkeys looking for a well earned rest over the winter months?

If so, our welfare team would like to hear from you as we are working closely with Parker’s Donkeys who provide donkey rides on the beach at Great Yarmouth and are now looking for temporary winter homes for their beach donkeys - Darcy, Max, Pinky, Ripper, Cracker and Vinnie.

Your commitment

Donkeys need to be re-homed in pairs as they are companion animals. You need to consider if you have the time and commitment needed to look after them as well as providing an acre of well fenced grazing with a shelter, fresh water supply and electricity. Caring for donkeys can be most rewarding.

Our commitment

The Donkey Sanctuary can provide free support and advice to anyone interested in helping out. If you would like to find out more about providing a winter home to Great Yarmouth’s beach donkeys, please contact Regional Welfare Officer, Shelagh Steel, on 07836 756117 or our welfare team on 01395 578222.
