The Donkey Sanctuary Grand Raffle 2009 draw took place on Wednesday 14th October 2009. Dr Elisabeth Svendsen, Founder of the Sanctuary, made the draw and was ably assisted by Jubilee, one of our lovely donkeys who lives at Slade House Farm in Sidmouth.

We are delighted to confirm the results of grand raffle draw for 2009. Our lucky 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners are as follows:

• Mrs Round, Bristol, 1st prize winner, £5,000

• Mr and Mrs Moore, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, 3rd prize winner, £1,000

We were overwhelmed by the huge response to our second grand raffle and our staff were kept extremely busy processing the large number of raffle tickets purchased and reading all the lovely letters we received!

Thanks to such wonderful support, we've managed to raise even more money in this year's grand raffle than in 2008, enabling us to help and care for many more donkeys in need worldwide.
