Slade House Farm print from the ink block

Do you recognise this building? The Donkey Sanctuary has been given an historic ink block in memory of the late Mr Brian Greer.

Mr Greer passed away two years ago, and now his family are finding homes for some of his interesting Sidmouth memorabilia. The ink block they have donated to us depicts buildings at Slade House Farm and possibly came from an auction originally.

Slade House Farm dates back to 1771 (Georgian) and is believed to have been built on the site of a former Tudor farmhouse. The farm house and many of its outbuildings were built in local greensand stone which was sourced from a nearby quarry. This stone was also used to build Exeter Cathedral, Sidbury Church and Woolbrook Church in Sidmouth.

Its such a delightful print and we are grateful to Mr Greer's family for passing it on to us.
