Susie Tangye all rugged up

Many visitors to the Sanctuary are followers of the Minack Chronicles written by Derek Tangye. They tell of his life with Jeannie living on the Cornish cliffs and the many animals that were part of their lives.

Susie and Merlin who were Derek's two remaining donkeys after his death came to live at the Sanctuary in 1996. Sadly Merlin is no longer with us, but as you can see from this picture, Susie is looking very well.

Now aged 28, we take special care of her and like many of our 'oldies' during the Winter months she is all rugged up to keep her warm. You will also notice that along with her yellow collar which gives her name and age, Susie is also wearing a blue collar indicating that she is receiving two extra daily feeds.

If you are visiting the Sanctuary, please do look out for Susie as she is often out on the main yard with her donkey friend called Dusty.
