Do you remember the plight of Laurel, Hardy and Tim and their rescue from terrible conditions back in July 2009? Having spent over six months being nursed back to health by the staff at our holding base in Buxton, Derbyshire, the trio have arrived and would love to meet you here at the Sanctuary when you next visit.
Laurel, Hardy and Tim can be found in the 'Salston Boxes' not far from the Hayloft Restaurant. These stables were named after the Salston Hotel, Ottery St Mary where our Founder, Dr Elisabeth Svendsen, used to run a hotel business. It is from here that she started to rescue mistreated donkeys and today the Sanctuary has taken in over 12,500 donkeys both in the UK and Ireland.
