Mossie's Matins (a Donkey's celebration of St. Patrick's Day)

This is a poem for my true vision of St. Patrick's Day. The "before " and "after" images of dear Mossie at The Donkey Sanctuary in Ireland. (a special "thank you" to Sylvie who gave me a nudge! - Slainte, Jenny B.

Mossie's Matins

When all are gathered to celebrate this Day
It is to Mossie we'll bring
Mind and Heart
Brought on a Pilgrimage
Of healing and life
Given fair passage at last
On this green earth
When her steps go towards heaven.
In Ireland's Sanctuary
She's tended with care
There to be given
The very necessities of life
A turn from her poverty
A Donkey's suffering and shame
Now equal with Love
Resting in her Compline.
