Frankie arrived at our Derbyshire Centre in September 2008 with his companion Andy, after their owner made the difficult decision to relinquish them to our care for financial reasons.

Andy suffers from respiratory difficulties and straw bedding can exacerbate his symptoms. As a result, the pair live in ‘Box 3’ barn as part of a small group of donkeys who have specialist woodchip bedding which is dust free and ideal for donkeys with respiratory diseases.

During the day, Andy and Frankie spend time in the paddock with the main group of donkeys so that they can enjoy the additional space and company of other donkeys.
