Relaxing in the Devon sunshine!

Little Pippa dozing in the sunshine

Well winter's definitely long gone and with spring here, my long eared friends and me are enjoying the Devon sunshine... as you can see from my picture. My ears may be at half-mast, but I can tell you that they don't miss a thing.

Most of you probably know that there's going to be a big event here next week. All us long ears are really looking forward to getting extra cuddles, grooming and some donkeys even being taken on walks. Yes, it's that time of year - it's "Donkey Week".

This will be my third year and on Wednesday next week, the main yard is going to be packed full of donkey lovers all waiting to hear from 'Mother' (as Dr S is called among donkey weekers). Did you know that if you've been coming along for 10 years to Donkey Week you get given a special red shirt? What a sight last year when we looked over our stable doors and saw a mass of red. Some of my long eared friends are what's known as "donkey weeker" donkeys. Not only do you get yourself a red shirt, but also one of us donkeys becomes your special donkey.

How exciting... wonder if this year I'll be lucky and get a donkey weeker friend!

You're back! And if I may be so bold, I would love to be one of the lucky ones to get a special cuddle from you! What a beautiful picture of you! I have your "Christmas" face framed and on my bookcase near my writing desk, so I see you every day. Can't wait to meet Little Pippa, you give me courage for sure.

All love,

Jenny B.

Oh I just love your blog, Pippa; I'm going to add you to the blog roll at my place now. Keep up the great work :)

You may have your ears at half mast as you say…… you remain as lovely as ever, Little Pippa. Give a big hug from me to Jenifer when you lay your hoof on her. XXX to you both.
