Yesterday morning, I went to Trow Farm to help Kelly and Sandra as a groom. We put the donkeys in the “Donkey Weeker” barn to brush them and although some of the donkeys were initially not keen to come in from playing outside, we were able to encourage them to go in. Once in the barn, we put head collars on the donkeys one by one and began to groom them.

We brushed them with a body brush and took the opportunity to check that the donkeys were in good health and hadn’t picked up any injuries while out playing in the paddock.

I was able to brush six donkeys! My favourite donkey was called Smokey who is very handsome with black and grey ears and has a very funny personality. I was already grooming a donkey, but Smokey was so keen to be groomed that he caught the lead rope between his teeth and he pulled on it saying “no” with his head.

On one occasion he dropped the lead rope and came to put his head on my hands. It was really funny and cute.

After two hours of grooming, the donkeys were looking very beautiful and they all happily went back outside for some lunchtime grazing.

Une matinee a Trow Fram en tant que groom

hier matin, j’ai rejoins Kelly et Sandra a Trow Farm pour les aider en tant que groom. On a du rentrer tous les ânes dans la grange pour pouvoir les brosser. Une fois tous rentrer on est allée les chercher avec le licol, et un par un on les a brossée et vérifiée qu’ils n’avaient pas de blessure. J’ai pu m’occuper de 6 ânes ! Et j’ai eut une petite préférence pour Smokey Oaks qui est très joli, il est gris claire avec des oreilles blanches et noir (voir photo) et très rigolo (il voulait que je l’attrape, alors que je venais juste d’attraper un autre âne, alors il a attrapé la longe et il l’a tirée dans l’autre sens et disant « non » de la tête, puis une fois qu’il l’a lâché, il est venu me voir mettant sa tête entre mes mains pour que je le prenne). Au bout de 2h, une fois tous brossés, ils sont retournés dehors d’un pas pressés car c’était l’heure de manger !
