Three Little Donkeys (At The Heart Of Things)

Three Little Donkeys
Playing in the yard
Pleasures all around them sing,
Bringing Sanctuary at
The heart of things.

Lovely, lasting peace of mind
As they play chase
Without respite,
Ecstasy in their little hooves
No love hath lent me such delight!

Sprites all three!
From some mid-summer's dream
A boot no less,
Is at the heart of things.

Their morning romp
As they circle round
Like three graces dancing
Surely, they are Rhiannon and Epona's wards.

Three Little Donkeys
Antique souls
Of forgotten lore,
Hold treasures hidden in
Play.

Like an untold story
Blest by this triple mischievous ring
We should count ourselves lucky
At the heart of things.

What a lovely poem Jenny. I feel quite humbled that you were moved to write this...

Best wishes,
Angela
