Anthony was born here at the Sanctuary on Monday 28th March 2011 after his 25 year old mother came into the Sanctuary with a group of abandoned donkeys. Her front feet were painfully overgrown and her thick scruffy winter coat hid her malnourished body.

Anthony is thought to have been premature as he is small and weak and needed to be bottle fed every two hours by our experts vets.

The Donkey Sanctuary has a no breeding policy. Any foal born is given sanctuary for life.
