Red collars are worn by male donkeys.

Sometimes you will see donkeys with other coloured collars, such as Tio Pepe. This combination of blue/orange indicates that he is on two feeds a day (blue) and is on medication (orange).

Tio Pepe is also having an extra feed once a day. Because he is already wearing two colours, notice the green band on his red colour, which indicates the extra feed.

Colour keepers/tape bands are used if more than two collars are need.

Tio Pepe, a beautiful strawberry roan, came into the Sanctuary in 1990 and is a resident donkey at East Axnoller Farm.
