A special Rose that comes with love

Rose sends her love

This Valentine's Day spare a thought for Rose. Just one of 2,554 donkeys being lovingly looked after by our staff and volunteers.

Rose is a 9 year old donkey who has a gentle and sweet nature. She arrived into our care in January of this year with her six month old foal and 11 other donkeys following a successful RSPCA prosecution.

Since that time we have seen Rose blossom into a beautiful donkey who adores Rocket, her son that was born in July of last year.

For the romantics among you, the colour of roses given on Valentine's Day send different messages and pink roses express gratitude and appreciation.

Our own special Rose, with her delicate pink nose, is saying 'thank you' with love for your support.

What a lovely girl Rose is and thank you for sharing her photo on St Valentine's Day. I wish her and her foal many happy years with The Donkey Sanctuary. Thanks for all you do.
