New donkey lorry visits its first school

On Wednesday 27th February at 10.30am the Donkey Sanctuary will be making its first visit to Pinhoe Pre-School in Exeter with its new specialist donkey lorry.

The lorry has been built to the specifications of The Donkey Sanctuary so that it can continue to transport donkeys to schools in the area to provide children with free educational visits.

Jan Aherne who runs the Educational and Activities Unit at the Sanctuary says: “Our other lorry was really worn out and kept breaking down so we are all looking forward to driving the new one. It’s really comfortable for the donkeys and staff and has much more room for all of our equipment.”

The Sanctuary’s Educational and Activities Unit provides an interactive approach to education by visiting play-groups, primary and secondary schools in the South West.
