Whether you have recently acquired your donkey, are thinking of purchasing one in the future, or have been looking after them for years, we invite you to come and join two of our experts in donkey care and nutrition for a day of information and advice. The workshops are organised by our Welfare Department and are completely free to attend.

These fun and interactive workshops for children, held during the school holidays, may include 'hands on' grooming with our friendly donkeys, story telling and various arts/crafts activities.

Activity themes for each workshop will be announced nearer the times.

International Donkey Week is a holiday with a difference - a chance for you to have close contact with our donkeys in glorious settings. You can groom, cuddle or just sit and watch the donkeys, which, we hasten to add, is very relaxing and therapeutic.

Every year The Donkey Sanctuary holds this unique week's holiday, relaxing down among the donkeys.

To help promote The Donkey Sanctuary's worldwide work and our sister charity, the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST), we will, once again, be attending shows around the country.

We hold an annual Memorial Day in early October on or near the feast of St Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals. During this day we remember those people whose names are inscribed around the Sanctuary.

This year's Memorial Day will take place on Saturday 2nd October 2010 starting from 10.30 am.
