60 male donkeys and horses on the island of Grand Turk will be castrated this week by the Sidmouth-based Donkey Sanctuary. It is one of the largest breeding control programmes ever to be conducted by the charity.

The old saying "as one door closes another one opens" proved true when the intended holding base we had lined up unfortunately fell through in Cyprus. However, in less than a week, we were contacted by a local man who was asking if we fostered out donkeys. When he heard we were looking for a holding base he asked if we would consider him.

Five children from The Amelia Trust Farm, a church funded charity near Cardiff, Wales will be visiting our Sanctuary in Cyprus this week.
