What is Gift Aid
The Gift Aid Scheme allows The Donkey Sanctuary to reclaim the basic rate tax back from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on any donation from individual supporters who pay UK tax.
Basic Rate Tax is currently 20 per cent, so the Charity is able to reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that is given, at no extra cost to the supporter.
Payroll giving is a unique way for people to give regularly to The Donkey Sanctuary. It allows employees, or occupational pensioners, to give money directly from their pay, before tax is deducted.
All donations given in this way are tax effective so The Donkey Sanctuary receives your donation and the tax you would have paid on this amount.
We are always so grateful to supporters who very kindly ask for donations to The Donkey Sanctuary in lieu of birthday presents, wedding gifts, anniversary gifts or Christmas presents.
