Anne McIntyre recently wrote to us about her mother, Stella Blainey, who was a very gentle caring person, who always looked for the good in others. She loved animals and supported a dog charity and a cat charity, as well as the donkeys. Anne and Stella came to Donkey Week in years gone by and enjoyed meeting the donkeys and staff first hand.
Dreams
Treasured memories of Tom
Barbara and Terry Williams from Upmister in Essex recently received their Field of Dreams newsletter which brought back memories of Tom, their beloved cat who sadly passed away.
Memories of Ireland
We were very touched to receive these thoughts from Christina Coakley evoking beautiful images of Ireland. Her husband, Patrick, originally came from Co. Cork and returned to his native Ireland later in life. Sadly he passed away after only two years in his homeland. His widow, Christina, tells us:
Special (irreverent) memories!
Dealing with bereavement is obviously a very sensitive issue and we are always mindful of this when corresponding with our supporters. We did, however, have a chuckle when Susan Addison sent us her special memories of her late mother Kathleen Hardy:
Valerie Parris
Rebecca has been a supporter of the Sanctuary for many years. When her mother, Valerie, passed away Rebecca embraced the spirit of Field of Dreams Funds wholeheartedly. There seems to be no end to her ingenuity in raising funds in memory of her late mother.
James and Gaynor Mary Drury
James was a construction worker and brave soldier. He was a loving husband to Monica for 53 years and a devoted father to their three children. He was a man with a generous heart, always ready to help. His hands, roughened with hard work, became gentle to all the animals their family shared. He left special memories and would be pleased to be part of the Field of Dreams.
