All farms

Brookfield Farm is managed by Andrew Cockburn and covers 55 hectares (135 acres), including 4 hectares (10 acres) of woodland. The farm is perched on top of a hill at the end of a beautiful valley, which is lovely in the summer but can be cold, wet and battered by the wind in the winter!

Paccombe Farm, managed by Neil Coles, lies in the hamlet of Harcombe, which is separated from Slade House Farm by just two miles.

Trow Farm, which is adjacent to Slade House Farm, is the largest of all our farms with an enormous 106 hectares (261 acres) and is managed by Alan Brown with 7 full-time staff. The farm was purchased in 1997 and is mainly agricultural based providing the hay and straw for donkeys on the other farms.

Slade House Farm is managed by Maxine Carter and it is the only farm open to the general public so please do come and visit. It is home to about 200 donkeys who live in small groups which can be seen on many of the walks around the Sanctuary.

East Axnoller Farm is situated some 35 miles from our main headquarters in Devon and nestles in the Dorset hills at the starting point of the River Axe. In 2007, otters and water voles had been seen on the river after many, many years of being absent.

Newton Farm is a small farm of about 21 acres situated in Buxton, bordering the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire. The farm is managed by Chris Pile who has been working for the Sanctuary since 1991.
