Mossie was found in a dreadful state in a field in Ireland. His hooves were severely overgrown and he was covered in mud. Despite all this, his faith in humans hadn’t been lost. When our welfare team found him, he was so friendly and happy to see people - it was heart warming.

From Ireland to Devon – meeting up with Daragh again!
My name is Zoë and I have worked at The Donkey Sanctuary for the past 10 years, most of these as Liaison Officer for our Sanctuary in Co. Cork, Southern Ireland. I wanted to share with you a little event that made my day!
Our oldest resident donkey in Ireland
This morning I was off to Hannigan's Farm with a list of donkeys to take photos of for the next newsletter for Ireland. It got off to a good start ... the sun was shining!
Donkeys in Ireland
This is a day I've been looking forward do ... I'm off to visit our Sanctuary in Ireland to meet the staff and donkeys. I'm travelling with Mal Squance, our Deputy Chief Executive, who will be meeting the new head of operations, Noel Carton.
Abandoned and tied up
Oliver was abandoned and tied up tightly when our staff at our Sanctuary in Ireland found him.
