Passing on our knowledge to Canadian donkeys today, I had the privilege of meeting and spending time with Kim Hayes, the new Operations Manager from a similar organisation to ours called The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada, which is based near Toronto in North America.
Visitors
Harvey's a favourite!
In early August, Andrew spent a day here at the Sanctuary and met (amongst many others) a truly serene and gentle friend. Having taken some photos, Andrew sent one to us to see if we could put a name to the donkey. The tell-tale ears were a clue and the grooms at Trow Farm were able to confirm that it was Harvey.

Jack gets a visit
Pat and Frank visited the Sanctuary earlier in the year and having enjoyed their stay in the area, are spending this Christmas back in Devon. Today they dropped in to see the donkeys with their daughter, Claire, and son-in-law, John.
Charlie meets a miniature
Charlie, a West Highland Terrier, came along with Sue and Guy to see the donkeys. They all enjoyed a walk around the Sanctuary stopping off to see the donkeys in and around the veterinary hospital, before walking up to see Torrent, a Poitou donkey, and our group of blind donkeys.
Will you marry me?
That was the question Paul Frostwick from Norfolk asked his girlfriend on Saturday with the help of two special donkeys!
